I’ve been noticing the high turnover rates here at our university apartments, especially at the end of each semester. It’s a bit of a juggling act trying to balance the needs of incoming students while also ensuring the outgoing ones feel supported. Has anyone found effective strategies or tools to manage this process better? I want to ensure our students transition smoothly without losing good operational flow.
One thing that’s helped us is implementing a peer mentor program for the outgoing students to connect with incoming ones. It really eased the transition, especially during the busy end-of-semester rush; have you tried something similar, or do you have a way to innovate on that idea?
I totally get the struggle with transitions, especially at semester’s end. We’ve had success with guided tours for incoming students led by outgoing ones. It really helps foster a community vibe. @carter_ellis92, have you tried anything like that?
Have you thought about sending out exit surveys? They could give insight into what outgoing students feel they need most during that final push, plus help refine your support strategies for next semester. How do you currently collect feedback?
